13CO2 Calibration gases
Extensive use of 13C Breath test analyses in clinical diagnostic applications has created a need for certified reference standards. This set of standards is designed to mimic 13CO2 levels in normal breath (Baseline Calibrant) and in two enriched samples (Mid-Level and High-Level Calibrants) Each Cylinder is filled with 10Litres of Air containing 5% of CO2. These gas calibration standards are gravimetrically prepared. Differences in 13C enrichment (expressed in delta units) between samples were determined in a multi-center interlaboratory study based on Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) analyses.
